Terms of Service
The rules for using Afrikons, written to be read rather than skipped.
Last updated: August 2026
The short version
Afrikons is a news publication. You're welcome to read it, link to it, and quote it. You may not copy it wholesale, republish it as your own, or use it to train systems we haven't agreed to.
The longer version below says the same thing with fewer shortcuts. If something here is unclear, write to legal@afrikons.example and we'll explain it in plain terms.
Using the site
You may read Afrikons and share what you find. You may not scrape it at a volume that degrades the service for other readers, bypass paywalls or rate limits, or probe our systems for weaknesses without asking us first.
We can suspend access if usage is damaging the site or other readers' experience. Where it's practical to warn you first, we will.
Our work and your work
Articles, photographs, illustrations, audio, and the Afrikons name and marks belong to Afrikons Media or the contributors we license them from. Nothing on this site transfers ownership to you.
Quoting us is fine and encouraged: use a short excerpt, name Afrikons, and link to the original. Reproducing a full article, translating it, or turning it into a newsletter of your own needs written permission. Ask at licensing@afrikons.example.
Anything you send us — a tip, a comment, a correction, a letter to the editor — stays yours. By sending it, you give us permission to publish it and to edit it for length and clarity, unless you tell us otherwise when you send it.
Automated access and training
Automated collection of Afrikons content for the purpose of training or fine-tuning machine learning systems is not permitted without a written licence. This applies whether the collection happens through our feeds, our pages, or a third party acting on your behalf.
Search indexing and personal archiving tools are welcome, provided they respect our robots directives and identify themselves honestly.
Accounts, newsletters, and events
Some parts of Afrikons ask for an email address — newsletters, event registration, and the job board among them. Keep the details you give us accurate, and don't sign anyone else up without their say-so.
Event tickets are subject to the terms shown at the point of registration, including any refund window. If we have to move or cancel an event, we'll tell registrants directly.
Advertising and sponsored content
Paid placements are always labelled. Sponsors do not see coverage before publication and do not influence what we cover.
Advertisements may link to sites we don't run. We don't vet those destinations, and what happens there is between you and them.
Accuracy and corrections
We work hard to get things right, and we publish corrections when we don't. Reporting is a snapshot of what we could establish at the time of writing; markets, valuations, and product details move on.
Nothing on Afrikons is investment, legal, or professional advice. Please don't treat it as such.
Liability
Afrikons is provided as it is. We don't promise the site will be available without interruption or free of every error.
To the extent the law allows, Afrikons Media isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits liability we can't lawfully limit.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms occasionally. When we make a change that materially affects readers, we'll note it here and change the date below. Continuing to use Afrikons after a change means you accept the updated terms.
